1916. PCGS graded Fine-15. CAC. Lightly toned. Popular key date that was released with the comparatively common 1917 Standing Liberty quarters. Thus few were saved and early numismatists were not aware these were even struck in 1916 unless they found one in circulation. Hence most circulated and finding a mid grade coin takes some patience.
