Sale 98

Lot 648

1853 N-14 R3 Repunched 1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous medium brown with peeps of mint color showing on both sides. This cent has solid mint state eye appeal but there is a tiny scuff on the lower eye lid and a puff of darker toning left of the O in ONE. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state b. The repunching under the base of the 1 is sharp and there is a clearly defined rim cud break at star 12. Our grade is AU58, very close to mint state. A nice cent in spite of the minor defects. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 2; 4 finer, 3 in 65, 1 in 66. Estimate Value $200 - UP
