Lot 496

1803 S-255 R1 Small Date & Fraction PCGS graded AU55. Frosty tan and light steel brown with medium steel brown toning on the highpoints and an area of darker olive brown and steel toning at the top of the head and ERT. The darker area at the top of the obverse shows a dusting of microscopic crud while the remainder of the planchet is smooth and very attractive. There is just a hint of rub on the highest points and the only contact marks are a few dull, light nicks below the ear. The reverse has mint state eye appeal. Nicely struck MDS, Breen state III, with light die cracks on the reverse but no cud break. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF40+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 3 finer, 2 in 58, 1 in 62. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP

Realized $2,233
