1799/8 S-188 R4 Overdate 9 over 8 PCGS Genuine, AG Details, Environmental Damage. The sharpness of this cent is at least G5 and the portrait shows VG8 details, but the planchet is covered with fine to moderate roughness on all but the highpoints, which are nearly smooth. The lower part of the date is fading into the rim but it is still readable and the legends are nearly complete. Slightly glossy steel brown and chocolate with reddish steel in protected areas. A pit or depression under the N in CENT is the only notable mark. Far from perfect but still a genuine 1799/8 overdate. Our grade is net AG3. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
