Lot 404

1795 C-6b R6- No Pole, Plain Edge PCGS graded VG10. Partly glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and attractive, void of any trace of corrosion or verdigris. There are some faint hairlines inside the wreath and a barely visible rim bruise that has been lightly smoothed at CA in AMERICA. The date is not strong but it is easily readable, and the legends are clear except for the usual weakness on HALF CENT. The weight is not shown on the PCGS label, but the planchet is clearly thicker than those seen on the thin planchet (C-6a) variant. Our grade is VG8. The attribution as C-6b (the rare Thick Planchet version of the C-6 die variety) is noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $300 - UP
