Lot 32

1819/8 N-1 R1 Overdate 9 over 8 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous medium chocolate brown and bluish steel with subtle hints of faded mint color in protected areas on the reverse. No spots or stains, but there are some tiny contact marks in the field off the chin and a small planchet lamination in the field midway between the right point of star 3 and the upper lip (as struck). A tiny piece of this lamination has flaked off creating a mark that is visible to the unaided eye. LDS with a series of narrow but clearly defined rim cud breaks from star 7 to midway between stars 11 & 12. The overdate feature remains clear. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#3 with many other examples in the Noyes census, his photo #56722. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer, 2 in 64, 1 in 65 for the variety. PCGS #36658. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
