Lot 310

1823 N-2 R2 PCGS graded VF35. Attractive glossy light to medium chocolate brown and olive. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is excellent in spite of some small contact marks scattered over the obverse. The notable ones are a dull nick on the lower point of star 4 and two diagonal nicks under the right side of the C in CENT. Scarce LDS with a cud break that reaches slightly inside the dentils from star 5 to star 6. A very nice example of this tough die state. Our grade is VF25. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #36757. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley-Gene Heard Collection.

Realized $4,700
