1803 S-258 R1 Small Date, Large Fraction PCGS graded XF40. Frosty dark steel brown and chocolate. No notable defects, just lightly worn. The best identifying marks are a small rim nick over the B in LIBERTY, a barely visible rim bruise over that R, and two parallel nicks just above the lower curls. MDS, Breen state II, with a die crack arcing up through the 1 and lower curls ending at the rim left of the lower end of the hair ribbon. There is no trace of a bulge in the field under the crack. Our grade is VF25+. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 15 finer for the variety. PCGS #36398. Estimate Value $750 - UP
