1802 S-242 R2 PCGS graded VF35. Glossy chocolate brown and steel with a small puff of slightly darker olive brown toning high on the cheek. Smooth and attractive, void of any corrosion, verdigris, or notable contact marks. A small nick on the left top of the T in LIBERTY can help identify this cent, but you will need a glass to see it. MDS, Breen state II. There are die clashmarks on the obverse and a die crack through the top of NITE to the dentils at either end. A nice mid-grade example. Our grade is VF25. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer, 1 in 45, 1 in 55, 1 in 63 for the variety. PCGS #36332. Estimate Value $800 - UP
