Lot 248

1796 S-110 R3 Draped Bust, Reverse of 1794 PCGS graded VF30. Glossy chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and very attractive, void of any hint of corrosion or verdigris. Just trivial contact marks, including a tiny pinprick in the field before the upper lip, a faint diagonal hairline scratch through the T in CENT, and a nearly horizontal nick close over the top of that T. The date is bold and the legends are clear. MDS, Breen state IV, with fine die cracks at the date and LIBERTY but without the additional crack through that T down to the forelock. A very nice mid-grade example of the date and type. Our grade is VF20. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2 graded VF; 4 finer for the variety. PCGS #35801. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
