Trajan. Æ Sestertius (25.65 g), AD 98-117. Rome, ca. AD 112/3. IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P, laureate head of Trajan right. Reverse: S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI around, AQVA/TRAIANA in two lines in exergue flanked by S C, Genius of the Aqua Traiana, holding reed in right hand and resting left arm on urn from which water flows, under arched grotto supported by two columns. RIC 607; Woytek 448; cf. BN 702 (bust with slight drapery); BMC 976. Rare reverse. Perfectly centered on a nice full flan. Reddish and green patina with slight gilting on the reverse. Surfaces slightly pitted. Choice Very Fine. Estimate Value $1,000 - 1,500
