Roman Judaea 4th-5th Century AD., Light Green Glass Bottle. Blown from light green glass, this bottle has a tapering cylindrical funnel mouth with cut rim, ovoid body and indented base. Two faint wheel-cut bands encircle the shoulders of the body. Intact and in perfect condition. Beautiful patina with translucent to iridescent opal colors and perfectly symmetrical. Height: 6". Estimate Value $500 - 600
Ex June 1986, Superior Galleries Sale of the bankrupt assets of the International Diamond Corporation. The ancient Roman glass was acquired thru Rafi Brown in the early 1980's. lot 2233.
