Roman Judaea, 3rd-4th Century AD. Two-handled Unguentarium with Colored Thread Decoration. Thick-walled and substantial, this cosmetic vessel was blown from light green glass. The bottle has a narrow piriform shape set atop a flat ring foot with a thick-rimmed, wide funnel mouth above. Twin handles of a slightly darker green tone are attached to the rim and pinched and angled at their base. Ornamental threading in dark blue-green trails around from the neck to end as a row of zigzags along the bottom. Intact with some areas of iridescence. Attractive and durable. Height: 4".
