Roman Judea, 3rd-4th Century AD, Wide-Mouthed Glass Jar with Trailed Thread Decoration. Fashioned from blown, colorless glass, this twin-handled jar is characterized by a flattened ovoid body, short neck, and wide, funnel mouth with thick, rounded rim and folded flange beneath. Two thick, applied and folded handles appear at the sides, along with a neatly trailed, thin thread encircling the body. Jar with black iridescence, revealing vivid and intense areas of silvery blue, violet, deep lime, and bluish green. Well crafted. Height: 2 3/8".
