Lot 94

1830 N-4 R2 Large Letters PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC GOLD Approved. Very choice lustrous uniform light olive and tan with bluish steel overtones. Sharply struck and virtually flawless in every respect. A speck of darker toning under the wreath ribbon is the only notable mark. MDS with numerous die cracks on both sides including a fine one from the right top of the E in UNITED to the dentils above, but the retained cud break under the date has not formed. Our grade is MS63, same as the PCGS grade that appears to be a bit low for this wonderful cent. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 4 finer, 2 in 64, 2 in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $3,750 - UP
Ex Stack's 1/2002:787-Chris McCawley 2/2005 (lot ticket included).
