Lot 62

1810 S-284 R3 PCGS graded AU58+, CAC Approved. Frosty medium steel and chocolate brown. Attractive satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. Looks mint state but there is a trace of friction on the highest points of the devices. Nearly flawless; finding a good identifying mark is a challenge. A faint vertical hairline up from over the left point of star 4 to the dentils at star 5 and a tiny spot of microscopic roughness over the upper left point of star 12 will have to suffice for this purpose. E-MDS, Breen state II, with faint die clashmarks right of ONE CENT. Struck slightly off center to K-5. Our grade is AU50+. Noyes says EF45 and tied for CC#11, his photo #59232. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer, 1 in 62, 2 in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $7,000 - UP
