Lot 543

1853 N-20 R3 Repunched 53 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous medium steel brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are covered with satiny mint frost and the eye appeal is excellent. The notable marks are a tiny planchet flake in the field over the left side of star 12 and a spot of darker olive brown toning inside the O in OF. MDS, die state b. The repunching at the bottoms of the 5 & 3 is strong and the die lines over RI in AMERICA are dull but visible. Another nice cent with mint state eye appeal. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 3 finer, 1 in 64+, 1 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $350 - UP
