Lot 53

1806 S-270 R1 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Choice frosty medium chocolate and steel brown. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. Looks choice mint state but there is a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices. MDS, Breen state III, with a dull crack from the dentils into the field well above the bust tip and fine die clashmarks on both sides. Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55. Noyes says AU50 and tied for CC#9, his photo #20630. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 3 finer, 2 in 63, 1 in 64 for the variety. Estimate Value $6,500 - UP
