Lot 529

1852 N-3 R1 AU58. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with faded mint red in protected areas on both sides. Flawless except for a few microscopic ticks on the portrait. Looks like a choice mint state cent but there is a hint of rub on the highest points at the ear. MDS, die state b, with a die crack from the dentils passing between the T & E in UNITED and through the wreath to CE in CENT. The reverse is rotated about 40 degrees CCW, which is typical for the die state. Estimate Value $200 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 10/23/1992-Dr. Bruce Tucker Collection.

Realized $223
