Lot 509

1850 N-5 R4 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous medium chocolate and steel with traces of mellowed mint red showing on both sides. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only marks are a couple microscopic ticks under star 12 and a horizontal tick just right of the upper lip. Neither mark is visible to the unaided eye and this cent looks flawless. MDS, die state b. The vertical line down from the inner hair bun is dull but visible. Our grade is MS62+, very close to MS63, and tied for CC#5 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $750 - UP
Ex Tom Reynolds 6/3/2005-Dr. Bruce Tucker Collection.
