Lot 47

1803 S-258 R1 Small Date, Large Fraction PCGS graded MS62 Brown, CAC Approved. Choice glossy medium steel brown with underlying frosty tan faded down from mint color in protected areas. A very nice cent, virtually flawless. The only marks, and they are trivial, are a spot of slightly darker toning near the dentils off the lower end of the hair ribbon and another over the first T in STATES. M-LDS, Breen state III, with a die crack that arcs from the rim up through the 1 in the date and hair to the tip of the lower end of the hair ribbon and ending at the dentils off the end of the upper hair ribbon. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #23355. Our grade is MS60 as well. A great cent that comes with a great provenance. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 5 finer, 4 in 63, 1 in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $13,000 - UP
