1803 S-249 R2 Corrected Denominator 100/000 PCGS graded AU58+. Frosty medium brown with golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas and darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. Mint luster shows in the fields and protected areas and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. No significant marks or other defects, only very light friction on the highpoints of the devices and microscopic contact marks scattered over both sides. The best identifying marks, and they are barely visible, are a diagonal nick on the bust and a tiny diagonal nick down from the right end of the base of the F in OF. MDS, Breen state IV. The "Mumps" cud at the throat is clear, several die cracks show on the obverse, and a fine crack connects the tops of RIC to the dentils over the right top of the adjacent E. The Corrected Denominator feature (100/000) is bold. A very nice example of this "Redbook" variety. Our grade is AU50. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer, 1 in 62, 1 in 63, 1 in 64 for the variety. Estimate Value $6,000 - UP
