Lot 424

1848 N-14 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and olive with subtle overtones of sea-green on both sides. Very sharply struck offering great eye appeal. The only marks are a tiny rim nick above star 6, another even smaller one at star 5, and a couple tiny marks on the rim under the second 8 in the date. The reverse is flawless. Sharp EDS, die state a, showing all the fine diagonal die polishing lines in the obverse fields. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#3 honors in the Grellman census. The attribution and Fricke provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $600 - UP
