Lot 42

1802 S-231 R1 Stemless Wreath PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Choice lustrous medium steel brown and chocolate with faint hints of underlying very faded mint color in some of the protected areas. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only notable marks are two spots of lighter brown toning at the bases of the N & E in ONE. MDS, Breen state V, with die cracks at RTY into the field before the portrait. A beautiful cent, and the Stemless Wreath feature is obvious. Our grade is MS62. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#2, his photo #25465. Bland says MS61 and tied for CC#2. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; tied for finest graded at both services. Estimate Value $13,000 - UP
