1801 S-221 R2 Corrected Denominator 100 over 000 PCGS graded XF45. Attractive glossy medium chocolate brown with a faint swipe of darker olive toning in the protected areas on the reverse from UNI to ATE. The only sign of contact worthy of mention is a small nick on the right foot of the I in AMERICA. Nicely struck EDS, Breen state I, before any die clashmarks or rim cuds. The Corrected Denominator feature is bold. Graded EF45 net VF35 and CC#9 in the Noyes census, his photo #34994. Bland says VF35 as well and tied for CC#9. Our grade is VF35+, close to EF40. A very nice example of this popular "Redbook" variety. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 4 finer, 3 in 55, 1 in 58 for the variety. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
