1794 S-27 R5 VG10. Five points sharper but dull from very fine granularity that covers both sides, strongest on the reverse. There are traces of verdigris in protected areas on the lower part of the reverse, but you need a glass to see it. The only marks are a thin diagonal scratch or fissure at the hair left of the forehead and a shallow planchet fissure at OF-A (as struck). The date and legends are complete and clear. E-MDS, Breen state II early, with a very subtle bulge across the obverse and a dull, faint line or thin wave from the right top of the D in UNITED towards the dentils to the right. Graded net VG10 by Bland and tied for CC#13 in his census. Noyes says F15 net VG10 and tied for CC#10, his photo #38184. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
