Lot 200

1802 S-230 R1 PCGS Genuine, VF Details, Scratch. Slightly frosty dark steel brown and chocolate. The surfaces are a bit dull thanks to uniform extremely faint granularity. No verdigris, only a few inconspicuous old contact marks. The notable ones are a fine scratch down the neck, a line of small ticks in the hair above the ear, a dull rim nick well right of the Y in LIBERTY, and a light scratch at CA in AMERICA. Rare TDS, Breen state X, with a raised retained cud break between the die cracks through the top of the wreath. Looks better than it may sound, and a proper brushing may bring more natural gloss to the surfaces. Our grade is VF25 sharpness net F15. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS Secure label. Estimate Value $300 - UP
Ex T. Tanner-Henry T. Hettger 2/2008.
