Lot 151

1794 S-29 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved Gold. Lustrous medium brown and light steel. Another great cent, essentially flawless offering superb eye appeal. The only mark is a barely visible shallow planchet flake on the upper part of the neck (as struck). Satiny mint frost covers all but the very highest points of the hair. It's obvious this cent never saw any circulation, but it may have a touch of "cabinet friction" on the obverse. LDS, Breen state IV, showing all the obverse and reverse die cracks described by Breen. Graded AU55 Choice and tied for CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #28023. Bland says AU55 and tied for CC#4. Our grade is AU58+, very close to MS60, and it has the eye appeal of a choice mint state cent. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS Secure label. Pop 3; 2 finer at PCGS for the variety, 1 in 64, 1 in 65+. Estimate Value $20,000 - UP
