Lot 104

1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Choice lustrous olive and bluish steel brown with a few hints of very faded mint color showing on both sides. No spots or stains, and the only notable marks are two nick-like planchet flakes in the field off the lower left point of star 12 and a tiny scratch at the dentil tips over the first S in STATES. These marks are not visible to the unaided eye and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. LDS with a triangular lump hanging down from a dentil right of star 8. The reverse is rotated 30 degrees clockwise relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Graded MS61 and CC#1 in the Noyes census (that census contains only 3 mint state examples), his photo #56763. Our grade is MS60. A superior example of this tough "Redbook" variety. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $4,500 - UP
