Lot 159

1797 S-142 R5+ VG7. A few points sharper but covered with light contact marks including small nicks and hairline scratches. None of the marks is significant in its own right, but there are far too many to ignore. A nearly vertical nick up from the right top of the N in ONE is the best identifying mark. Slightly glossy light to medium chocolate brown. EDS, Breen state I. Struck slightly off center to K-6 affecting some of the dentils but none of the devices. The date and legends are complete and easily readable except for OF, which is weakly struck. Estimated Value $200-UP

Ex Washington Connecticut House Flea Market 6/1974-the Rod Burress Collection.

Realized $376
