Lot 785

1845 N-11 R3 NGC graded MS63 Brown. Frosty dark steel brown and olive with peeps of faded mint red showing on the obverse and 15% of the mint color remaining visible on the reverse. The only notable marks are a tiny vertical nick on the throat and a couple thin diagonal nicks on the jaw. MDS, die state a late, showing a narrow but strong rim cud from star 2.75 to star 4. Nicely struck except for weakness on the leaves under ES-OF. Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#7 honors in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
