Lot 685

1828 N-6 R1 Large Date PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light olive brown and steel with faint hints of lighter reddish steel brown faded down from mint color in a few of the protected areas. The best identifying mark is a faint spot of lighter brown toning at the lower left point of star 6. Sharply struck E-MDS with a faint die crack from the bust tip to the lower right point of star 1 but not extending to the dentils. The fine repunching along the bottom of the O in OF is clear, the obverse is peppered with tiny lumps from die rust, and the reverse is rotated 25 degrees CCW from the normal head-to-foot orientation. Our grade is MS60+, close to MS62. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Population 4; 2 finer in 65BN at PCGS.
