Lot 422
1809/6 C-5 R1 Overdate 9 over Inverted 9 VF30. Ten points sharper with light contact marks scattered over both sides, none distracting but too many to ignore. A minor planchet lamination at star 2 is a good identifying mark. Glossy light olive and steel brown with some golden tan in protected areas. Scarce EDS, Manley state 1.0. The 9 over inverted 9 (the inverted 9 is often called a 6) is clear. In addition, the base of a stray 1 is clearly visible extending down from the truncation over the right side of the 8 (a feature not mentioned by Manley or Breen).
