1783 Washington Draped Bust "Cent" Restrike Breen-1193 PCGS graded Proof-66+ Brown. Variety with a center-grained or engrailed edge. Choice medium brown and light chocolate. The obverse shows a beautiful cameo frosting on the devices with reflective fields while the reverse is a more uniform glossy proof. Essentially flawless and the eye appeal is superb. The best identifying mark is a tiny spot of darker toning over the cap at the top of the pole on the reverse. These restrikes were produced by W. J. Taylor in London in the late 1850's using hubs and punches left over from the 1783 original strikes. Listed on page 80 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Realized $1,880
