Lot 2095

1891-CC. PCGS graded MS-61. A nice example with ample luster and some copper gold toning on both sides. The surfaces show the expected bagmarks from handling, and this one likely came back to our shores after spending several decades in Europe in that regions banks as gold reserves. In later years, after World War II many of our gold coins began to return to these shores. If these coins had remained in this country, most if not all would have been melted after 1933 when gold coins were called in. Carson City issues like this are always in high collector demand (PCGS # 8720) .
Estimated Value $1,400 - 1,500.

Realized $2,056
