Lot 1500

1917-D. Mint mark on obverse. PCGS graded MS-65. Mostly untoned with bright silver dominating the surface. Outstanding quality for this early date Walking Liberty half, as few were saved that quality for Gem status today. The strike is sharp and the fields are pleasing with little more than a couple of tiny scuffs found when closely examined. There is a small patch of russet toning on the left obverse edge, lighter traces are noted elesewhere. A nice coin that any collector will long appreciate for its charming frost and luster. Pop 74; 8 finer, 3 in 65+, 5 in 66. (PCGS # 6570) .
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.
