1904 Louisiana Purchase Expo medal. Hendershott-30-40. NGC graded MS-64. Bronze, 63.5 mm, round type. A masterpiece designed by Adolph A. Weinman, approved and struck at the U. S. Mint. This medal is among the most important American numismatic art pieces created in the early 20th century. There are totally five levels of medals struck carrying this design, and each one in a different shape. A total of only 10,000 medals were made and it's getting more and more difficult to locate a nice example in today's market. This presented piece was boldly struck with no visible mark on both sides. Worth a premium for the beauty.
