Lot 350

1799 S-189 R2 PCGS graded F12. Slightly glossy medium steel brown and chocolate with darker chocolate in protected areas and lighter tan on the obverse devices. The surfaces are mostly smooth except for a small, inconspicuous patch of fine corrosion at the bottom of NT in CENT and another in the leaves over the E in ONE. MDS. The date and LIBERTY are both complete and clear, which is a big plus for this tough date since many were struck with one or the other feature noticeably weak due to axially misaligned dies. Our grade is F12+ sharpness net VG10+. A decent example of this tough date. Pop 2; 6 finer at PCGS for the variety. Estimate Value $12,500 - UP

Realized $11,750
