Lot 332

1797 S-129 R5 PCGS XF Details, Damage. Variety with M over E in AMERICA. Glossy olive brown and chocolate. The surfaces are smooth, void of any trace of roughness or verdigris. Unfortunately there are two horizontal scratches across the center of the neck and a single scratch from the forehead to the back of the head. The scratches are old and blend into the attractive toning, but they are obvious nonetheless. The only other mark is a rim dent at the L in LIBERTY. LDS, Breen state II, with light die cracks near the rim behind the head. The M over E feature is bold. Our grade is VF25+ sharpness net VG10. Graded VF25 net VG10 by Bland and tied for CC#7 in his census. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
