1788 Massachusetts Cent Ryder 8-C Rarity-5 VF25. Type with a period following MASSACHUSETTS. Attractive frosty medium chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown toning in protected areas. The sharpness is significantly better than VF25 but there are some old, light scratches under LTH in WEALTH and a few more left of the C in COMMON. These marks are not especially distracting and the overall eye appeal of this piece is quite nice. The obverse (Eagle side) is sharp and choice. Listed on page 61 in the "Redbook."
