1853 C-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel and medium chocolate brown. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is excellent. The only marks are a faint puff of darker toning in the field off the middle of the nose, another on the curl left of star 12, and a tiny planchet flake over the right top of the T in CENT (as struck). M-LDS, Manley state 2.0. The die line through the first T in STATES is weak and barely visible and the fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines. Our grade is MS63. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $600 - UP
