1835 C-1 R1 Repunched 5 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous light olive and bluish steel brown with peeps of faded mint red on both sides. Subtle puffs of slightly lighter brown toning mingle on the lower half of the obverse. A beautiful half cent. The best identifying marks are a small, faint puff of darker olive brown toning at the left end of the line under CENT and a few microscopic specks of dark toning under the first S in STATES. LDS, Manley state 2.0, with obvious die clashmarks before the neck and chin in addition to lighter ones on both sides. The repunching on the 5 is dull but still visible. Our grade is MS63, same as the PCGS grade. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $500 - UP
