Lot 176

1829 C-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Beautiful lustrous light bluish steel brown and olive. Hints of very faded mint color show through on the obverse while 15% of the reverse shows mellowed mint red. Satiny mint frost covers this piece, even the highest points of the devices, and it offers outstanding eye appeal. Essentially flawless in every respect. A microscopic speck of darker toning under the I in AMERICA may help identify this piece. M-LDS, Manley state 2.0 early. The spines through the H in HALF and C in CENT are dull and the extension from the top of the C has been reduced to a faint nub. Our grade is MS65, same as the PCGS grade. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Richard Gross 4/25/2003-The Green Tree Collection.
