Lot 149

1811 C-2 R3 Repunched 8 PCGS graded XF45. Glossy medium chocolate brown and light olive. Mint frost shows in protected areas and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. The surfaces are smooth and nearly flawless. The best identifying mark, and it is barely visible with a glass, is a thin horizontal nick on the upper lip. M-LDS, Manley state 3.0 early. There are strongest die clashmarks on the obverse, including some over the last digit of the date, but the die crack at OF has not formed. The repunching on the lower left of the 8 is still visible. Our grade is EF45, same as the PCGS grade. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 3 finer, 1 in 50, 1 in 62, 1 in 65+ for the variety. Estimate Value $6,000 - UP
