Lot 132

1809/6 C-5 R1 9 over 6 or Inverted 9 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. The obverse is toned a very attractive lustrous golden tan and bluish steel brown; the reverse is a more uniform bluish steel brown and olive. Satiny mint frost covers this piece, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. No spots or stains, but there are a few inconspicuous marks. The notable marks are a couple very tiny ticks on the front edge of the neck, a nick hidden in the curl on the neck, and horizontal nick on star 6, and a few very faint hairlines at stars 1 & 2. LDS, Manley state 3.0. The small lump under the second A in AMERICA is gone and the dentils are nearly gone. The 9 over 6 (or inverted 9) feature is still clear. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
