Lot 10

1794 C-4a R3 Small Edge Letters PCGS graded VF35. Slightly sharper but there are a few very light rim bruises on the obverse and a pair of equally insignificant rim nicks at ST in STATES. The only other marks are a very thin planchet void in the field right of the Y in LIBERTY and a small planchet chip hidden in the hair above the shoulder (both as struck). The surfaces are smooth and this piece offers excellent eye appeal, especially the reverse which is choice. Sharply struck EDS, Manley state 1.0, a rare die state that has no die clashmarks before the neck. The reverse is rotated 15 degrees CCW. Weight 98.9 grains. Our grade is VF25+. A nice mid-grade example of a tough die state. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 6 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
Ex Heritage 7/31/2008-The Green Tree Collection.
