Lot 66

1824 N-3 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty medium steel brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are lustrous and this cent looks mint state, but there are a few too many tiny contact marks for a mint state grade. The notable marks are some microscopic ticks in the field around stars 4-6 and a tiny rim bruise at the N in UNITED. LDS. The inner circle at the dentil tips on the obverse is gone and many of the dentils are weak or missing. Graded MS60 net AU55 by Noyes, his photo #20451. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Naftzger-Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 2 finer in 64 for the variety. PCGS #36772. Estimate Value $3,000 - UP
