1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous medium steel brown with 15-20% of the original mint red remaining visible on both sides. No spots or stains, only tiny contact marks, mostly around stars 4-6. The reverse is choice. A small nick close under the right side of the U in UNITED may help identify this cent. MDS with the reverse rotated 30 degrees clockwise. Graded MS62 by Del Bland and finest known among the confirmed examples in his census. Not seen by Noyes. Our grade is MS62. A wonderful example of this scarce "Redbook" variety. Previously removed from a PCGS slab graded MS64RB (label not included). The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; tied for finest BN of the variety. PCGS #37045. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
