Lot 84

1824/2 N-1 R1 Overdate 4 over 2 PCGS graded AU53, CAC Approved. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown with frosty lighter steel brown toning in protected areas. A very attractive cent, just lightly worn. No spots or stains, and the only notable marks are a tiny horizontal nick on the nose over the nostril and a couple faint scratches under IC in AMERICA. MDS. Both dies are cracked (as always on this variety), fine radial die flowlines show in the fields near the dentils, and the overdate feature is obvious. Our grade is EF45. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 6 finer, 1 in 58, 2 in 63, 1 in 63+, 2 in 64 for the variety. Estimate Value $3,000 - UP
