Lot 78

1820 N-13 R1 Large Date PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Highly lustrous light steel brown with a hint of light bluish steel overtone. Traces of faded mint color show in protected areas on the obverse and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a few trivial ticks on the cheek and a thin streak of darker steel toning in the field left of star 12. Sharply struck MDS with a die crack through the date and stars, the usual Randall Hoard die state for the variety. A beautiful date or type coin. Our grade is MS64. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $1,750 - UP
Ex Hogan Pond Collection, American Numismatic Rarities 3/2005:1154.
